Cologne Cathedral and Old Town
The Gothic cathedral dominates the skyline of Cologne and is one of Germany’s most famous landmarks. It is also one of the most beautiful examples of Gothic and Neo-Gothic architecture in the world. Currently the
cathedral is the seat of the Archibishop of Cologne and it is a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1996. Cologne's Old Town has a distinctive historical charm
with traditional old houses and rustic narrow alleyways.
As a location for conventions and meetings, Congress Centre Koelnmesse is located directly in the grounds of KOELNMESSE. There is a variety of room space available. The largest room is event hall 9 for up to 9,600 people. It has a combined space for 19,500 seats and an incredible 284,000 m² of exhibition space that creates a vibrant setting for companies and products.
The Cologne Convention Bureau (CCB) has published a new version of the handbook Meeting Point Cologne (MPC) for the year 2017/18. The first part of the 156-page, richly illustrated handbook is produced in a magazine-style layout and provides the reader with highly informative and entertaining editorial content on Cologne as a congress location. The second part features an overview of around 150 partners from the following sectors: congress locations, conference hotels, event locations, and event services. Meeting Point Cologne therefore combines a wide range of both hard and soft facts on the advantages of Cologne as a location for the MICE sector and provides congress planners with first-class assistance in staging their event.
Quick and easy access to information via smartphone or tablet too
For the first time, the editorial content of this year’s annual handbook is also available via a responsive website for smartphone or tablet. Access is via a “teaser wall” at locations.cologne, where the handbook content supplements an online conference planner, an event calendar with dates of trade fairs, congresses and scientific events, and a presentation of the Cologne Convention Bureau and its services.
All the content of the new Meeting Point Cologne is also available at locations.cologne. A print copy can be ordered free of charge at firstname.lastname@example.org.
